Announcement: New Content Schedule!
Welcome to TwistedSpoon Studio! Now that 2021 is dead, it's time to look forward to the future. Will the world end? Will you fall in love? Will Genshin Impact ever release on Switch? These questions and more will be answered... by someone, I'm sure. But what I do know is, you can look forward to more game design and custom Magic articles here on TwistedSpoon Studio!
Monday Musings
I could make a Garfield joke, but you deserve better. Instead, we'll be bringing you practical game design advice every Monday. You already know that math is important in game design, but how do you use it effectively? You've played the latest Magic set, but why does it work so well? (Or not?) From explorations of design space, to analysis of published games, to rapid prototyping, we'll be covering a variety of topics for your delight and edification. Swing by this coming Monday, January 3rd, for the first ever Monday Musings.
Workshop Wednesday
Yes, I schedule my content by alliteration. Is that weird? Wednesday articles will feature specific designs for individual game pieces and mechanics, be they custom Magic designs, homebrew rules for board games, or mechanics from my personal projects. Game design is a lot like a black box-- some stuff goes in, and designs come out, but you don't get to see what's going through the designers' heads inbetween. Unless, of course, you tune in to Workshop Wednesday! Starting this Wednesday, Jan 5th.
FUR Friday
If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Festival of Urbestia will continue to fill Friday's featured forays into the fray of custom Magic: the Gathering fan sets. Last we left it, the beast folk of Urbestia and their all-out celebration saw the beginnings of a soft reset. Never fear, though-- Vision Design is still set to conclude on schedule at the end of January, when playtesting will start in earnest. My resolution is to finish the set by the end of 2022-- what's yours? Check out the first FUR Friday of the new year on January 7th.
